Solved: MMO chat problem
Every time I try to use in-game chat for my MMO games the letters are turned into numbers. Example: Mississippi would be 12345678901. If it were in caps it would be symbols. How do I fix this? I need help ASAP. It is not a problem with the games. It is doing this on every MMO game I play.

Exclamation Anybody?
Does anybody know? I've already missed several things that I could have gotten if I had been able to chat.

1. An easy test is to go into Device Manager and uninstall the keyboard, then `Scan for hardware changes` and let the system re-install it`s default drivers. If the keyboard works okay under normal useage, then you know it`s in-game problem and not the hardware.

2. Try pressing the Alt key and see if that changes the characters back to letters.

3. Another option would be to uninstall the game(s) and re-install them one at a time, checking for correct typing before installing the next one. Ocassionally common game files can cause conflicts between themselves giving rise to all sorts of strange activities.

Darn it! I forgot to mention the games are browser-based! And I forgot to say I'm using a laptop. I feel like an idiot. Haha.

No it wasn't. I think it didn't work because I'm on a laptop. It's doing this on DarkOrbit and Edgeworld.

Google Chrome. It randomly started doing this and I'm not sure why.

Can you use firefox or IE to see if it happens with them too? Do you know if the game is using flash/java?

I am downloading FF now. IE is too slow for the game to work right. It's JAVA.

If it doesn't work with FireFox too, then ininstall all instances of Java in Control Panel (you may have 2) and then redownload from www.getjava.com
