I try to play Half Life, but when I do, It shows the main menu for a second, and crashes. I've tried running it in d3d, openGL, and compatibility mode, but nothing works. I also checked both steam and Half Life to be ignored by DEP, so someone PLEASE HELP!

If you are running it under a 64-bit OS I believe you have to force it to run 32-bit to get it to work properly. It sets itself to run the 64-bit version by default which is buggy and hasn't ever been properly supported. I forget the command line option to set specifically, but you can find it if you search the steam forums.

It was dap for STEAM not half life.
