Planetside - Video Problems And Crashes.
Hi, i have recently paid for and installed Sony's Planetside on my pc.
The game will run fine for approximatly 5-10 minutes before certain environment objects, (floor, buildings, the odd tree) loose all texture and turn solid white. Once this happens i have about 1 minute before the system;
a)freezes completly (forced manual restart)
b) crashes to desktop with distorted resolution and color scheme (forced manual restart)
c) BSOD with a "ati2dvag.dll" caught in an infinite loop error message

To try and solve the problem i have done;

all virus/spyware checks- using adaware and trend pc-cillin AV.
Reinstalled latest video drivers / rolled back drivers.
Reinstalled Planetside.
updated direct x.
cleaned out the case of all dust and crap.
run game with external fan blowing on system.
reinstalled latest soundcard drivers.
run the game on absolute lowest settings.(same results)
turned hardware accell for sound and video down.
run the game after a clean startup (no other programs running....same result)

So the PC i have is a dell dimension 8400 with a radeon x800 XT , all additional information can be seen in the attached dxdiag text file. (see below)
I have had the system for maybe 2 years now and have never had any problems running CS, CS Source, Half Life 2, World of Warcraft, Mohaa, COD Battlefield 2, UT2004 and others.

Ok so ive tried to list as much information as possible, if you need anymore just let me know.
very many thanks in advance.

Hmm, Ive had problems with certain games with many ATI cards myself. Have you checked Sony's Video Card compatibilty list? Im sure they have it under the System Requirements...
