Exclamation Continual directx error in EQ2
This has been driving me up the wall, and I think I have downloaded more programs in the past couple of months trying to clean up an unknown problem and made a mess of things, and STILL I have the same problem.

I play eq2 and anywhere from 30 seconds to 20 minutes into the game I crash. It is an error that begins with:

d://live\eq2\framework\core\devices\src\DirectX9renderDevices.cpp ....

and at the end "out of memory" (going by memory here sorry)

I have done so much to try to fix this and probably made it all worse. It happens in NO other game at all, just eq2. I am baffled.

I am running a HP media center 7330n which, admittedly started with too many freaking programs and then I added (amd my hubby and friend added) even more. I don't know what I can get rid of, what is causing this etc.

I made a eq2 forum post here with a TON of dxdiag info and msinfo32 info. Be forewarned, its LOOOOOONG.... (just posted what tech support asked for)

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/p...opic_id=367303

If anyone can help I would be SO appreciative. I am at a loss as to what to do/try. Making matters worse is HP doesn't provide XP disc with computer, or i would have wiped her clean and started again by now....

OH I also did HijackThis just to see. Log below.

have you try updating your direct x? what video card do you have? try checking on the manufacturers website for a video driver/platform update.

Angry thanks
hi there, thansk for the reply

Yes, I have many times tried to update direct x and it is always up to date. Yesterday I *did* get an update and I was SO happy because I thought it was *the fix* but unfortunately, it was worse today

I *had* a nvidia 6600GT and recently upgraded to a 8800gts 640mb thinking it was a faulty card mem or something but again, unfortunately, I was back to where I am now. At the beginning with nothing solved.

So far I have spent just under $1000 on different things for my comp, network etc trying to isolate the problem and I am about to give this computer to my husband and buy a Mac or something, I am SO pissed off. I'm usually able to fix this sort of thing, through process of elimination and some good google skills LOL but this one is WAY beyond me. I have a HP too, so without the XP disks...I can't even manually delete directx and fully install. Talk about annoying.

ok, have you try http://secunia.com/software_inspector/ to help you clean up anything in ur pc? if not plz do so if you find any errors make sure you fully uninstall the error software(you can do this with add remove programs in windows control panel) befor you install the new ones that secunia recommended.

also
i dont know what version directx you have
Go to Start > Run, and type:

dxdiag

to diagnose your video, audio, and DirectX. Also, see what version of DirectX you have.

for the video card that you are useing this one is the best http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US...DirectX10.aspx

also
you might want to make a new post in network security forums with a new hjt log and let the experts look it over for any problems.

post back here to let me know how things are
