Solved: Cannot Install SimCity
I installed SIM CITY 3000 on my computer some time ago and later uninstalled it. I tried to reinstall it recently but was unable to. When autorun from the CD the following appears in a dialogue box:

Quote:
Launcher

This program has performed an illegal operation
and will be shut down

If this problem persists, contact the program
vendor.

Details>>
LAUNCHER caused an invalid page fault in
module LAUNCHER.EXE at 0167:00409c09.
Registers:
When I double click on "Setup.exe" on the SIM CITY CD the Installation Program starts and I click next, the following is displayed in a dialogue box:

Quote:
Question

A previous version of SimCity 3000 is already installed. Would you like to update it with this version? (User created files
will be unaffected.)
This is incorrect, Simcity 3000 is not already installed on my computer.
I click "Yes", the following is displayed in a new dialogue box:

Quote:
Not Enough Space

Sorry, there's not enough disk space free on. 33444 bytes are required and only 0 bytes are free.
I click "Ok" and setup ends.I have far more than 33444 bytes of free hard disk and I ran the disk defragmentor to clear even more. When I try again I keep getting the same result.
I access the "Add/Remove Programs" in "Control Panel" and see that Simcity 3000 is listed there (along with mountains of other applications I have long since deleted). I highlight it and select the "Add/Remove" button. Uninstall shield runs. Afterward SimCity 3000 is still in the Add/Remove Programs List.
Could you suggest how I might fix this?

Have you deleted the Simcity folder in the hard disk. Usually the folder will not automatically being deteted it when you uninstall your game.

You mean like RegCure or Registry Mechanic that are advertised in this forum above? I have tried those. They will not do it unless I register with them. Can you suggest anouther registry cleaner ACA529?
