Unhappy Guitar hero 3
Hey guys, im having some major trouble with guitar hero 3
i bought the game installed it and had fun on it but it became a little repetitive, so i downloaded some aditional songs in the form of a big old data file. to play these songs i needed to have 2 copies of guitar hero so i could play the origonals and the new ones.
this is where the problem starts, i always had to have the songs i wanted to play in the program files, because the shortcut would default there. so instead of renaming the files i would just move them some where each time. well this time i moved it in to the file directly above ( still in my program files) then later that week i uninstalled the program that i moved the guitar hero files in to and they got deleted too.

Now every time i try and install guitar hero using the disk i it comes up saying "Repair" or "Remove" which neither of these work, they just roll back and say that nothign has been changed on the system. ive scoured my PC for anything refuring to GH3 and deleted it ive even taken everything from the registry to do with it.

:/ still comes up with these 2 options tho, anyone have any ideas? would be greatly appreciated.

i play gh3 on my quad core, and i love it.
I also got the gh1, 2, and extras (such as chocolate rain and super mario)

but it looks like you got a problem. Try removing it in the control panel first.
this is a genuine copy, right? not pirated?
also, gimme your system specs

first thing i tried was removing it with control pannel it just came up with an error during uninstall saying that it couldnt uninstall it, so now its not on my control pannel list anymore.
i cant find any, and i mean ANY files to do with it on my computer but it still asks me if i want to modifuy or remove my game if i insert the disk
Its a legit copy, real CD key, real CD.

Not sure how this will help but my PC specs are
Windows vista Premium X32
Intel core duo 1.86ghz
2 Gigs 800MHZ ram
MSI Nvidia Gforce 8600
300 gig hard drive
need anymore?

Have you tried running the setup.exe on the actual disk? not the autorun.
also you may want to try defragmenting your hard drive, then looking for gh3 files. also look for aspyr, the company that ported the game.
