Sims 2 problem
Hey, i just bought The Sims 2 Double Deluxe and i had no problems installing it, but when i try to run it it just freezes at the EA games logo. It takes about a solid 60 seconds for it to start up and then you see the EA logo pop up and hear the kids laugh and then it just... stops.

The computer is always fine and the mouse is always responding when it freezes, but i can't even see what anything in the game is like. The game just... stops responding and i know it's not a hardware or directx issue (This is on my ASUS G2s A4 laptop), and i worked with a friend for a good amount of time to get it to work and we've gotten nowhere.

I'm open to any suggestions from anyone who's interested in helping me out.

Thanks

i've run the game in compatibility mode for XPS2 as the administrator (all three areas), i've tried to run it while bypassing the sound and i've reinstalled it seriously 5 times

nothing really worked

Have you messed with the video card drivers? If not, uninstall the current drivers, restart, then install the latest drivers, then restart.

Alright, since nvidia blows at driver support, you'll have to go to the asus site and find it:
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us

Select notebooks, then G2, then g2s.
Go under vga and download the top one.

Please run a HiJack Log to rule out any malware affecting the instillation.

If you have HJT already please uninstall before reinstalling new version
  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
  • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

HiJack this log is clean.

Try downloading a No CD crack, I cant direct you to one here but, you can google it. It might help. Make sure you save the current running Exe from your EAGAMES folder on your desktop though incase of anything.
