Yet another reason this game won't be on my computer...
I'm sure this is how the conversation went:

"Hey, let's make an MMO."

"What's the theme?"

"How about Conan? You know, Arnold back in the day?"

"Okay, but how are we going to make ours different than the rest?"

"I'VE GOT IT!! Blood! Tons and tons of blood! That's the thing everyone else is missing!"

Lame lame lame.

guess again, I'm all for "realism" but that looks like the designers spent way to much time playing paintball. Just looks silly to me.

PEP .... The Witcher is quickly surpassing Oblivion as my fave game of the last few years. If some good user mods start popping out now that the construction set was released for it then it will undoubtedly become my fave game for quite a while (longevity is the only thing keeping it from that spot right now)

I know they went a little over-board with the gore effect, and the game lacks some of the more realistic aspects of close quarters face-crushing and testosterone induced howling. But my best freind got into the weekend PvP beta, and we played it non-stop. Its a really great game to be honest, its well thought out, really fun when you beat the piss out of a whole group of enemies, and I may be alone in this, but personally I think using the Conan series was a good theme to base it on, and I didn't even really like the movies. Its a bit addicting though, but like any game its got its pros and cons.

Besides, whats wrong with over-exaggerated blood spewing after a good ol' fashioned massacre?

Blood physics are actually pretty cool to see in-game. There's a big difference between how your blood splatters when you're slashed in the face by a broadsword and when you're smacked with an arrow. When a game reflects that, I appreciate it.
