Exclamation Solved: Runescape/ Technicale Help!!! please!
Now I need help! As you can see by my name!

Okay, So I have a Dell, got it in 2007 so it's like at most 1 year old. But, still I've never had a problem with Runescape before. My cookies[might] be fine. I don't know why. But, since my cousin, who's 8 tried to make a account. I haven't been able to access Rs. Like he put he was below the ages of 13 or something. But, anyways I need help! I'm not sure why Rs won't work for me. Every time access it the error page comes up saying...

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.runescape.com.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Some one on another forum said to delete cookies and temp files. I did it and it didn't help at all! - they said it was a 13 day ban..idk

Anyways help me bad I have a good computer I use Mozilla, and i tried to access it with Internet Explorer...Still won't let be go to the unescape Page.

And, when I use Proxy I gt on Runescape, get to the game[the screen where it downloads the game] and it puts a small box with a red X on it I right click it and it says 'Open Java Console'and the next option is ' About JavaTM'. I click the first option a wierd small box with a bunch of codes like...Java Plug-in 1.6.0_05
Using JRE version 1.6.0_05 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
User home directory = C:\Documents and Settings\Aisha

----------------------------------------------------
c: clear console window
f: finalize objects on finalization queue
g: garbage collect
h: display this help message
l: dump classloader list
m: print memory usage
o: trigger logging
p: reload proxy configuration
q: hide console
r: reload policy configuration
s: dump system and deployment properties
t: dump thread list
v: dump thread stack
x: clear classloader cache
0-5: set trace level to <n>
----------------------------------------------------
load: class loader.class not found.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: loader.class
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.createApplet(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.createApplet(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(Unknown Source)
at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

.....come up And the other option gives me a small box that says

Standered Jave Platform Edtition 6..and some other stuff in reals mall leters....

Now what do I do I'm lost!

And if you give me an answer please explain. I 'm sorta Computer illiterate!

Who's your ISP? They could be filtering websites. The reason that RuneScape didn't work with a proxy is because almost all proxies do not support Java. Have you tried it with Internet Explorer? It could also be your hosts file, but that's unlikely.

can you ping runescape?
run command prompt (start->run->cmd.exe)
and type ping runescape.com
tell us if you get the message "request timed out"

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and open the hosts file with notepad. Press ctrl+f to activate the find function, and type runescape. If it finds anything, delete the whole line that has the word runescape in it. Once you've done this until it doesn't say runescape anywhere in there, save that file and try getting on RuneScape again.

No problem . Remember to mark your thread solved.

And just so you know, your hosts file was probably modified by another user on your computer.
