Extremely Out Of Date Driver!!!
i have been having problems with my games recently that have stopped me playing all together and i am almost certain it is because of my driver, i knew it was old but i just ran over it again and its date is 1/07/2001!!! the version is 5.1.2535.0 but whenever i update it and restart my computer it says it gets stuck in an "infinite loop" and wont go to the desktop so i have to backdate it in safe mode

it must be a simple problem and its doing my head in please could someone shed some light on my situation?!? Thanks alot!

5200 is a pretty old card, and I only have a 6200 so I shouldn't be saying anything. Are you sure that the drivers are for your card? It could be that your card is outdated by a lot (no offence) and can't handle the new updates.

If you're sure that it can handle then what exact error are you getting from your system after restarting?

oh yeah im not here to boast about my card i know its ****** and am looking at reviews for a new computer i just tried to update it again and it said that it was the most compatible driver for me... so i guess your right but the main game i played was BF2 and it worked, but for the past few months it hasnt so i blamed it on the driver

all games that require a program start and any degree of graphics pause and play a repeating sound and then go back to normal every 30 seconds which make them unplayable does it sound familiar? i cant think of anything that ive changed for it to happen

Are you talking about a video card (what make/model)? or a sound card (what make/model)?

ive had similar problems with some games, disabling the sound worked for me too but i left it at that since sound wasnt critical in that game...
try messing around with the sound options in the game, if anything is on auto detect set it manually.

build your pc do not by from store you will be unhappy with how much more you will need to upgrade...as far as your card creative is not compatible with lots of newer games if your trying newer games, older games is fine the creative xfi gamers sound card is nice.
