Question Sims 2 and Vista
right before the newest stuff pack came out at the end of June, i made the switch from windows xp to vista home basic. for my operating system.i finally was able to instill the newest stuff pack for my sims 2 game this past sunday(work was keeping me busy) and when i loaded up the game, it loaded fine, so i went into the neighborhood i wanted to use--no problem there either.

when i clicked on create a family, it started out ok and then without warning, the song i had playing started skipping and sounding like a broken record(i have my own music playing instead of the crappy sims 2 stuff.) and it crashed to my desktop.

i waited a couple minutes reloaded my game and again when i went to create a family, it did the same thing!

is sims 2 not compatible with vista? can someone help me please? i would apprciate any help i can get.

also in vista go into start, control panel, system and maintanance, performance and information tools, adjust visual effects, choos for performance and apply, also go into start type sys and go into system configuration utility and disable any unnecessary start up programs.also be sure to defrag computer every three days after defrag go back into disk clean up and choose more options and remove all but most recent restore points, this may completly wipe out xp if still on your disc a little
