Call of Duty 2 on Vista
Hi all,

I had installed Call of Duty 2 in my pc with Windows Vista OS, after i installed and try to run it, it will pop up an erro saying that "DirectX(R) encountered an unrecovered error, check the DirectX(R) FAQ for possible solutions"

The Call of duty 2 requires DirectX 9.0c, but i try to get what version does my pc has is the DirectX 10 version, which is built-in installed on Vista.

I also tried to install the DirectX 9.0c version but still it wont work.

How do I fix this problem in order to play games?

My computer specs:

* Intel celeron 420
* 256 mb ddr2 extended 512 memory
* 80 gb hdd
* intel gma 950 graphics

Thanks

What does DirectX report when attempting to install DirectX 9.0c? Any error message? Screenshot?

You have attempted to install this version of DirectX?, yeah? Those are the latest...

I donot think its DirectX is the problem, its your ultra low bargain basement hardware specs. First, you barely have enough memory to run Vista never mind any applications or games. Also the GMA 950 is only good running Office or a web browser, no good for high end games. Get some more memory (1-2GB) and a decent graphics card. Of course, if its a laptop - get a new one!
