Unhappy Graphical problems
Hello

I read the post on what to do before posting anything here, and I regret that I can't post a dxdiag log atm, I will have one available as soon as my mate gets back home.

Anyway, the problem is this. Whenever running graphically demanding games the game shuts down after a while. It might be 5 minutes, or it might be 30 seconds and then the screen will flash a few times, then generally all textures turn blue or white, and in 90% results in the game crashing.

Oddly enough this doesn't happen in all games. Playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2 often results in this kind of error after about a few minutes, while Supreme Commander gives up only after 1 minute sometimes. And then there's Command & Conquer Generals, that never has this kind of problem.

As for computer specs, I'm running a Intel Core2Duo 2.4ghz, 2gb ram, Xfx Geforce 9600GT (512mb) and a xfx nforce 680i motherboard.

And it might be of interest that I'm playing all my games on my 37' samsung tv. (DVI-HDMI connection).

If anyone has seen this before, please share your knowledge! Thank you

What is the size of your power supply? (You can probably guess where this is going.)

Yeah I've thought about that, it's a 450w so it should be enough. But would it require more juice when playing on a tv?

I would recommend getting a bigger power supply. I have a 8600gts and I'm using a 550 watt power supply.

It could also be a heat problem. Have you check the temperatures of the GPU (useing something like Speedfan or NTune)?

The problem has been resolved.

After inserting the graphics card into another computer we could easily conclude that the graphics card was broken.

Thank you for your interest and help =)
