Solved: World of Warcraft - More FPS Than Usual
I've been having this problem for some time, and I don't really know what's causing it. I'm running on Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, on an Acer Extensa Notebook. Intel Pentium Dual-Core, 50GB Hard Drives with 2.50GB of RAM.

While in the game, questing outside is about 3-12 FPS, and inside about 15-20. I used to run on 1GB of RAM, and I thought upgrading would give me better performance. I don't lag anymore, but my FPS is really, really low. When I was playing on my friend's computer, he had about 40 FPS, and he only had 1.50GB of RAM. The only reason I could think of why this was happening, was because I was on a Notebook, and he was running on a Desktop.

Here is my DxDiag info, and if anyone can figure out why my FPS is lower than usual, please tell me so I can try to fix it. (If it's not too much, could you tell me recommended fixes I should make? And if I'm not giving all the information needed to figure out the problem, please tell me, and I will post it on here ASAP)

Thanks!

((DxDiag info was edited due to length))

You're not going to have a great frame rate with a notebook and its built-in graphics card. The new expansion, WotLK, is challenging even my desktop in certain areas, dropping the frame rate a lot.

When did you start having this issue? Was it with the release of the expansion?

Well, when I started playing Warcraft (original), I was using a Desktop, and my FPS (believe it or not) was actually lower than what it is now.

It really was never an issue of having FPS problems, it was just that I thought 2 more GBs of RAM would kick it up.

I'm going to be stuck with this laptop for some time, and I just want to know if there's anything I can do to increase the FPS.

(I managed to find the URL of the laptop I'm running on: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218026347207)

The laptop doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, instead a crappy integrated Intel graphics accelerator... That's why your framerates have gone down. RAM means nearly nothing when there's no good graphics card in a task that requires graphical processing (best example is a game). You could propably get a decent FPS if you lowered all the graphical details and maybe the resolution by one notch, but then it would be ugly.

Uh, not, you are never going to get great performance with this laptop. The video card will hold you back.
