Disc Error with Sims 3 on Toshiba Satellite Laptop
I have a toshiba satellite a105-s2091 laptop and I purchased the Sims 3. I installed the program without a problem but when I tryed to play it, a screen poped up saying "Disc Authorization Error". My disk drive works fine with all other dvds and cds. My current driver is an MAT****A DVD/CD RW UJDA770. If there is no way for me to fix this problem would it be possible to use an external dvd cd drive? If so, what would be compatible with my laptop?

Yes I would try an external dive as there is some problems with Sim 3 and some Toshiba drives.....most USB external drives will work

Is this an original disk and are you using the corect registration? Is the disk damaged or scratched? Does the drive read other CD's all right?

What you describe is not a "disk error" but a failure of the authorization for the game that proves that you have the original CD.

It is the original game disk and all other games, music cd's, and dvd's work on the laptop.

Guys would it be possible to use a no-cd patch ? Doesn't the law state that if you own the original game then you can ? Correct me if I am wrong.
