Here is a question for gamers only:

Are the gaming mice, keyboards and gamepads for PC good to buy or aren't necessary?

I would say that they can make playing the game a better experience....as they have extra buttons and functions for gaming......for instance playing a flight simulator game without a joy stick can be done but not enjoyable.............are they necessary?....in some games I would say so

Least necessary would be a "gaming keyboard". Sure, it has nice lights so you see the keys in darkness, sure it has programmable buttons to bind functions to them, but paying 6-10 times the price of a regular KB that works just fine, it's not worth it.
Gaming mice are good for fast multiplayer FPS games, not a total necessity, but something like the Logitech MX518 is well worth its price if you're a serious gamer.
Gamepads, why? If you're playing a game that really needs a gamepad to play properly, then yes, it's a good buy. But, yeah.

Don't believe on what the "gamers" says. You can play games with a regular keyboard, a regular laser mouse, and optional gamepad. Companies such as Razor like to use Endorsement to attract naive people to buy their stuff. Of course, your Glow In the Dark keyboard would make everyone's eyes green in envy but if you just want to play games, any old cruddy mouse would do. Gaming keyboards have special keys in order to bind functions into them but for 10x the price of a normal keyboard JUST for 10 extra keys is like daylight robbery. Gaming mouse boasts of high DPIs, they merely increases the sensitivity of the mouse itself. Besides, who needs pixel accurary to play, not like a guys head is that small.... The extra buttons in gaming mouses are good. You can use them to melee in FPS and such but there are mouses out there that have them too and its not necessarily for gaming. Gamepads...... Hmmm... if you need them to play Games then its fine but why deprive yourself with the most convienent form of electronic interaction? The keyboard and mouse?

Nope. Laser mice are horrible, at least in the sub-50$ category. Get an optical one. They keep up with fast movement a lot better. MX518 really is the optimal sweet spot in quality*precision/price ratio.

Gaming keyboards can be fun, but not necessary in the least. The only time I would ever even consider doing a gaming keyboard would be some sort of ZBoard for an MMO or something, but even then it is highly unlikely I'd buy one. I pretty much agree with everything said so far on the gamepads. Get one if you feel like whatever game you are playing would have better functionality with a gamepad over a keyboard+mouse. As far as gaming mice, I'd say that one of these is pretty vital to a good gaming experience. I'm going to have to disagree with MC-117 about the Razer company on this one, they make incredibly high quality products. I'm a big fan of the Razer Copperhead mouse personally, and would recommend it to anyone looking at online FPS games. Logitech is also a good brand to look in to for gaming mice if you don't see one you like from Razer.
