black screen with sound

hello i have a little problem on my new pc
i was installing games like age of empire 3 , warrock ... and when i want to open the game i got a black screen with only sound

my pc: intel(R) core (TM) 2duo cpu E7400 @ 2.8 Ghz
windows xp
my graph card : nvidia geforce 9600 gt 512 mb

and i use a hdmi cable that is connected on my tv
