Hello!
I bought the sims 2 Computer game a few years ago, and installed it on the family computer. A few months ago, my dad wiped the hard drive and bought a new computer, so now, obviously, it isnt installed and i cant play it. i have my own computer- a new dell laptop. it is loaded with windows vista and works fine otherwise. I have tried and tried to install sims, but with no results. i get to about ninteen or twenty percent, and it comes up with an error message, saying: "A problem occured when trying to transfer the file TSData\res\sound\sfx1.package. do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel the installation?" Of course i retry, and five minutes later it is still on ninteen or twenty and the same error message pops up again! What should i do?

Either you drive is dirty (unlikley since it's new) or your Sims 2 disc is damaged.
