[Strife4284]

I recently bought oblivion for my pc, which is my first game on the pc, so I don't know too much about it. After i installed the game, i opened up the main menu and clicked on play.

A few seconds later a minimized black screen popped up in the upper-left hand corner of my screen and a message also came up that said "Failed to initialize renderer. NiXAdapterDesc:GetDeviceCaps0 failed." The only thing to click on the message is OK and when i do, the box and message go away and nothing else happens.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game twice and nothings changed. My knowledge with computers is extremely limited and am by no means any kind of genious with this stuff.

If anyone could tell me what the problem is and if i can fix it, i'd appreciate it.

Go to Start > Run > type dxdiag and press enter. Click on the Display tab and report back the information in the Device box:
