 | Junior Member with 10 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2009 Experience: Intermediate | | Multiple Users Cannot access battle.net On The Same Router! Well my brother and I both have Warcraft 3 and our own serial keys...
So I went to set us both up on being able to host WC3 Battle.net games..
on my applications and gaming tab of my network configuration page I made the external and internal port both 6112 and then the "mode" or whatever TCP...and then I typed in the last 3 digits of each of our IP's...
But for some reason now both of us can't even get on Battle.net at the same time...From my router i have a ethernet running to my hub in my room...then from there to my comp and my brothers comp...So if i unplug 1 of our cables from my hub...then 1 of us can get on Battle.net...So anyone know what to do so that we can both get on B-net at the same time and BOTH be able to host games? | | Distinguished Member with 24,683 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2002 Location: Proud Brit in VA Experience: B.S. in M.I.S | | Just to confirm it is a HUB, and not a SWITCH? | | Junior Member with 10 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2009 Experience: Intermediate | | Yes it is a HUB......with 6 ports | | Junior Member with 10 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2009 Experience: Intermediate | | And now we can't even play in our local area network...Like we can't find each others games... | | Junior Member with 10 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2009 Experience: Intermediate | | Fine don't help me out...this forum sucks | | Senior Member with 207 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: NE US | | Well it's really simple all you have to do is

As to your problem, my guess is that the hub is not handling the data, or more specifically the router is not. you should have a switch inbetween the two as a hub causes more data collisions due to it's nature and doing a game between two people on the same network then it would most likely be the cause (lots of data flowing). If you can, eliminate the hub can go directly into your router and see if that helps.

them my bro's room his even farther...So that's not an option..
and what is a switch? | | Distinguished Member with 24,683 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2002 Location: Proud Brit in VA Experience: B.S. in M.I.S | | A switch looks like a hub, but functions a little differently. It controls data much more efficiently than a hub. (as in next to nothing data collisions).

#11 | Yes I meant wireless network. If your router has wireless capabilities, then perhaps going that route will/may be more easier. | | Senior Member with 1,788 posts. | | Join Date: May 2007 Location: Uk, roundabout Londonish, for Experience: Advanced |

#12 | as far as net plat goes, I have seen the problem before. It stems (in some games at least) from the IP address being the same for both users, which the servers will not allow. While the copmputers may have different IPs (you need to check) the final signal may be on one.
And 2 cat5s, over 200ft long? How big IS your house??

Oh yeah i forgot about that.... maximum length should be 185ft before you have connection issues (not the one you are currently having) | |
