Changing the language in 'The Sims 2'
Hello everyone,

I have a bit of a problem. I am living in Japan at the moment, and I ordered The Sims 2 Double Deluxe and some expansion packs. They are in Japanese, of course.

Is there any way to change the language of the games to English?

Thanks alot,
Sam

There should be a very easy way:
Insert the disk, copy all its contents to a folder somewhere, open the AutoRun folder, open autorun.cfg with Notepad, there should be a list of languages, change the value of English to 1 from 0. The installation will now enable you to choose English as an installation language.

It works! Thanks alot, BG-0. I was worried there for a few hours. I would've had to sell them on somehow.

One more question; now that the games are installed from the CD files that I copied onto my computer, will I need to keep them there? Or can I delete the CD files and run it from the CD?

You can now delete the files on your hard drive you copied from the disk. The CD is enough to play it.
Glad to hear it worked.
