I've been having problems with TF2's frame rate since I bought it about a month ago. When there's more than about 16 people playing, the frame rate drops to about 9FPS. Even playing with only a few people or even alone it can drop randomly to 13~20FPS. In very small rooms it's at a decent 30~50FPS. I meet all of the required system requirements and all but one of the recommended requirements. I have a Presario with an AMD Athlon XP 3000 processor at 3GHz, a gig of RAM, an NVidia 6200 video card, running Windows XP, using a 1024x768 resolution, and a 500GB brand new hard drive. I tried lowering the resolution, that didn't help. I set all the details to as low as they could go, still doesn't fix anything. Any suggestions?

TF2 doesn't run smoothly on anything but 1000$+ computers at any graphical settings. I may just get 80 FPS without VSync when doing nothing with lowest settings, 65 on highest. In action it's 20-40 at any settings.
There's really nothing to do with a low-end computer and a horribly programmed game.
