Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

Just bought a ps3 slim and it takes forever to install and patch.

Hope someone can help.

Yes.
Both laptops working fine. Turned the laptops off. Then turned the freeview box off (which is next to TV). But no difference.

I have an issue where when I try to update, it gets disrupted by my Wii. If there is any way, can you connect via Ethernet to update?

You may have to explain that - I'm not familiar with Ethernet. We have a netgear wireless router.

How to connect via Ethernet

It's basically connecting your PS3 to your router via a wire (called an Ethernet cable), rather than wireless. This will eliminate any interference, provided your router is close enough.

I know on mine the wireless is much slower than a wired connection. Could be interference like another poster said or simply distance from the router. Or maybe the wireless on the PS3 is just a lot slower.
