Solved: Mouse Disappears
Hi,

I have been playing "Insider-The Stolen Venus" I have the cd and also had downloaded when purchased online, I recently bought a cd which had multiple games on it and this was one. I thought I would try it again to see if It would work.

This is a hidden object game, The first half plays fine, then I get to a scene, (same scene i played earlier) just different things to seach out, and I have no mouse? it's gone.

Could this be my video card? which is very sad, if it is why does it work up until that point? Could I disable the 3d acceleration on my computer? is there anything I could do to fix ? or am I out of luck? I really like this game so any help would be appreciated.

I a running Intel Celeron 1.70 GHz, 512mb ram, Windows XP SP3, Intel Graphics Controller , 64mb video ram, 3D yes, free disk space 61.8 GB

Hey Bratt,

Just a guess, but try this... it's harmless.

When that happens, press alt-tab and continue to hold alt. A small prompt should come up in the middle of the screen. Try to refocus on your game by continuing to press tab until your game is selected again. Also, look for a firewall exception prompt, or any new window that might halt the game at this point.

If this makes your game work again, the game developer made a boo boo.

If this does nothing, the application has lost your mouse as an input. Again, this is rarely your fault if your mouse works for everything else.

Try plugging your mouse (assuming USB) directly into the system. If another device is drawing too much power, it can lag the mouse and give garbage to the program.

That's the best I have for now, but better than anyone else was doing..

Hi DaBeers,

Your guess worked, I clicked the Alt+Tab and held the Alt but that didn't work I had to click them both repeatedly to bring my mouse back, It kept disappearing but I was able to finish the scene and go on, it did it 1 more scene and then it was back to normal. I should be able to finish today.

Thank You So Much! I will mark as solved
