Unhappy Screen Blanks Out When Playing Certain Games - Video Included!!
Hi there. I have been having this problem with my new computer ever since I bought it, yet only with certain games. Hopefully this video I uploaded will explain my problem:

The games that work are:
Call of Duty
Halo Combat Evolved
FIFA 08
Sim City 4
F1 Challenge '99 - '02

The games that don't work are:
Oblivion
GTA 3
TOCA Race Driver 2
Colin Mcrae Rally 04

There are others to both lists but I forget them - I have tried every basic setting - Running in compatibility mode, changing my PC resolution, changing the game resolution, running as an administrator. The differential is not DVD/CD, and GTA 3 and Colin Mcrae worked fine on my Vista Laptop.

I am running Vista Home Premium (same as laptop), with an AMD Athlon Processor LE-1660 (2.8Ghz), an ATI Radeon 4350 Graphics Card with a 1920 x 1080 display. My PC is 32 bit.

My PC is faster and more able than my laptop in every sense of the word. I have had this problem since the very first day I got my computer, which is nearing 2 months ago.

Thanks for your help, oh and do remember to check out the YouTube video. Thanks!

Completely - I have DirectX 11 and well the drivers are complete with this new PC which I bought in September.

I am getting Windows 7 v. soon - will this sort things out?

Have you checked your drivers since you bought it? It isn't unlikely that new ones have come out even within a month, or that the PC itself didn't come with the most up to date drivers you can get.

Windows 7 could fix the problem, but it could do just the opposite. I don't know enough about it to give you a straight answer there.
