Unhappy When launched, ALL games immediately minimize.
No matter which full screen application I launch, it always starts minimized, and then when I click the task bar to maximize, it immediately minimizes once again. I didn't think I had to reside to using these forums, but they always seem to give me the right answer. Most games I've just had to play windowed but some games I cannot, such as Modern Warfare 2 which I've been dying to play at this point.

Please help.

EDIT: I've also tried setting "Run in:" to "Maximized" mode and it worked the first time, but no longer works.

Stupid question but have you tried restarting your computer? it could be a stray task that keeps minimizing your game, or have you tried opening your task manager and ending the procces named "explorer.exe". and then hitting file>run: then type in "explorer.exe" and hit run (this should get rid of any stray tasks). Let me know if that helps.

Thanks for the response, I'll check in a second, but yes, this has been happening for about a week. I've restarted my computer multiple times in the process of a week.

Are the games you're playing by NC soft by chance? I had similar problems with multiple NCsoft games. I fixed it by actually DOWNGRADING my drivers as a lot of older games struggle with the drivers for some reason.

Also try spamming the escape key as the game opens and see if it will stay open for you. I had to do this for a long time with a few games untill I got my drivers/directx situated. Lemme know if any of this helps, if not I'll ask a few of my friends.

Also, can you post your system specs (CPU, RAM, video card, sound card, power supply unit)?

Download and install Everest and check your system temperatures before and after playing.

They're not high. These games used to work, but now its exceedingly irritating. I can't scrim on Counter-Strike Source anymore in my league because I'm laggy enough to the point that I cant play while playing in windowed. I beg someone to give me an answer.

Isn't the fact that it works, alone, enough to say thats it has nothing to do with my hardware? How would I go as to figuring out what the make of my power supply unit?

And also, do you have steam or something? I want to figure this out as soon as possible.

No, I don't have Steam.
If your PSU is not of good quality and a high enough wattage for your system, then one hardware component may not be getting enough power from the PSU.
You can find the brand, model number, and wattage by taking off the case and looking on the PSU itself.
