Is that the only external device you are using to receive Internet?

Well, if that is the only modem/router you have, then it still looks like there is a problem with how the router is setup or the PS3's network card is faulty.

I think it is likely to be the servers of the games, besides port forwarding, what can I try?

With your current setup/equipment, you are somewhat limited. Connecting directly to the modem would show whether the problem may be wireless.

What is a modem, and how do I connect it directly to it. I have tried connecting directly to the router, which didn't help.

the modem is what sits between the wall socket and your router, unless you have a modem/router combination and no other routers.

Like I said, since its new, you should exchange it for a new one at the store you got it from, or contact SONY to see if there was any known compatibility issues with your modem/router

As I've already said, try connecting the PS3 directly to the modem/router.

You didn't see the first post, first paragraph...

Nabs, at this point you have 2 options, contact SONY, or return it for a new one, before your chance is gone. Some stores have 14 days to allow you to exchange it.

I think I'll have to contact Sony, but what if they blame it on the game servers.
