Xbox 360 & External HDD
I was just wondering if instead of spending 100$ on an xbox 360 hard drive could I connect my 1TB external to my 360 and use that as the hard drive to store downloaded content and games and everything or is there no way of redirecting where the contents is saved?

The 360 currently only supports a maximum size of 120gb. You can make a custom 120gb hard drive to go into your 360 but sometimes these can be detected by Xbox live causing you to be banned in theory. If you decide to go with a hack do your research, you need to use certain models of 2.5" laptop hard drives because you will have to download setup files from official M$ hard drives to flash onto yours before your Xbox will even be able to see it.

In short, you can't go over 120. The box won't see the drive, you can upgrade your drive for probably less than $100, but it's a tad risky. Weigh the pros and cons and make your own call. Tons of guides on the hack, Google upgrade 360 hdd 120gb.

Oh alright so by the time I go through all that trouble I can get a 120gb xbox hdd off ebay for about 80$ might as well go that route.

I thought I saw a 250gb xbox 360HDD? Like an offical one meant for the 360.

Using anything other than the offical hard drive will probably get your xbox banned from live. That being said, I'd suggest doing a google search about custom hard drives, there's tutorials all over the place. In fact, here's one:

And 250GB drives are definitely available: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-250GB...8561369&sr=1-1
