Question Remote Desktop Gaming via Laptop
I have a mid-level HP gaming laptop, (details below) which does not quite perform as well for RC helicopter flight simulations with the more detailed backgrounds. (trees, buildings, runways, etc.) so I'm considering using Windows Remote Desktop to connect to my much higher performance desktop computer. If I use a high speed ethernet connection between the two computors, can this work with almost the same apparent speed as if I'm on the desktop? Many thanks. (I prefer not to upgrade my desktop to high performance gaming unless this would work) Laptop: HP Pavillion dv5 G60-120US Notebook ,Vista OS, AMD Turion™ X2 RM-70 Dual-Core Mobile Processor at 2GHz & 1MB L2 Cache & Up to 4000 MT/s system bus & 3072MB DDR2 System Memory, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 256MB on-board memory, 250G (5400RPM) Hard Drive, 15.6" Diagonal High Definition (8) HP Brightview Display (1366x768), Integrated 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector), Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN

I dont think this will work very well at all at least not with remote desktop, remote desktop usually has a lag delay no matter the connection trying to handle simple task yet alone playing a game.

If you want to try this search google I know there are programs out there that were designed to accomplish this much better then remote desktop.

I was hoping that would not be the case but makes sense. If anyone knows of a more suitable program that would be great. Many thank.

do a google search for remote gaming programs I know there are sevral out there that were designed exactly for this, but I would not advise Remote Desktop just to clunky for this type of thing

Talking might be just the ticket
Thanks, I found a freeware program called "TightVNC Software a Free, Lightweight, Fast and Reliable Remote Control Software" and released under the GNU General Public License. It can even transmit video data as compressed JPEG with high quality scaling, so this might be just the ticket for my remote flight simulation.
