why cant you play COD4?

Anyways, I would look at your machine, make sure it has good airflow. Most of the time I noticed its a video card issue (overheating) so you would want to check that. Also look for MEMTEST program to test your memory.

It requires a dual core processor apparently. The best answer ive gotten is that its shuts down just because its trying to give the machine dual core instructions to a single core processor. Ill check the heat a bit closer then ive been, i check the heat afterward and all seems cool (literally). Ill open the case see whats what.

Ill do the memtest and re-post my results.

EDIT: No CD's to burn it to.

Also, maybe its the processing speed. Intel Pentium 4 2.4ghz is the minimum required. Im running 2.0 ghz. Considering the Pentium 4 proccessor is single core im thinking my proccessor is jus slightly under the bar.

You don't need a CD for memtest, at least there should be a downloadable version as well as a CD version.

Theres a download for software to write the test to a floppy and the prompt says:

Memtest is a standalone memory test and must be booted from a floppy disk. Memtest cannot be executed from Windows or DOS.

They have and ISO for CD's but i dont have any, unless im looking at the wrong thing.

hmm maybe they have changed it, or I did get the ISO without realizing.

CD's don't cost as much now. less than a buck.
