I suggest waiting, and if your parents aren't going to buy one for you or contribute to it, save your $50 a week, or $25, at least $20 at week and buy a new system (now or PS3) from a pawn shop.

Most of them guarantee their purchases for a month and is much cheaper than buying one from a store. I bought my PS2 from one last year and it's the best investment I've made.
...what? I... I have no idea what your talking about sorry. I am talking about a computer, not a wii, not a ps3 but a PC.

As to the others, I know that the 850w is a little overkill but I am getting a new video card hopefully by the end of may, trying to get the XFX Radeon 4890 so I was thinking ahead when figuring out what I PSU to get.

I will run the spyware as well as the heat temp. Thank you all for responding to my questions.

500w is Min for that XfX 4890. Personally id go for the Corsair 650w, For efficiency and noise levels.

Ah alright then. That saves me 100 bucks. Now, for the overheating problem. Would a new case help? How do I lower it? Even if it is not overheating I still just wanna make sure.

did you install that temp software and check what kind of temperatures your CPU and GPU are running at?

But to answer your question: A case could reduce the temp a little depends on what kind of case you want?
Does your Current case have side fans?
Im guessing your PSU is mounted on the top?

Honestly I dont know where the PSU is, my friend is the one who builds the thing. I think there is one fan in the back, there is some open holes on the side that you open, but other then that there is not much.

The temp thing wouldnt work when I downloaded it.

Superantispyware scan... did you do that?
It would be easyer and more fair on you if you could discuss alot of this with your friend. Many people with many ideas, if he built it, then maybe he may know whats best for your system.

Be good to get your Os cleaned up though, Post the scan log.

Ok
FOR VISTA:
click on start> Right click on Computer> Click on Properties>then On the top left Corner of that window you should see "device manager"

Look Out For the Yellow ! Marks

To uninstall Amy of these Drivers You Right Click Them And "update driver" Youl Be Lucky If this Solves the Problem, Although your On the Right Track,
I think Someone else Suggested On this Tread to Get the Drivers From The Manufacturer.

Good Luck.

Alright I got one game to play just fine now, I went into Catalyst and to overdrive settings. I then lowered the GPU Clock to 600MHz and the Memory Clock to 405MHz.

I can now play Star Trek: Online just fine with the default graphics. Used to crash even on lowest graphics. I am going to try prey next. If that works I should be fine.

It has yet to crash and I think it is fine for now, I will still upgrade the computer to be on the safe side, but now I can have some time to wait, Thank you all so very much in helping me!
