Tracking/skippig mouse
Hello!

I have a very odd issue with my mouse tracking in counter strike 1.6. I have as listed Win7 64-bit, but I have had these issues on my computer before this one and I have tried several operating systems.

To the problem.
When I am in-game, my mouse "jumps" alot. The same feel you get when there is a string of hair on the mouse lens. For example when I do an 180 degree turn in the game, I sometimes turn 240 degrees intead.
I have played cs since release, so all the settings are correct. noforce commands in LO and remove pointer precision etc. Its not as the aim jumps to the top of then screen, but it bounces around when I move it around. I read on another forum that it could be that the aim is jumping to the desktop pointer, but I have no clue. This ONLY happens in openGL games. I have tested on both CS and HL1.
This has been on my last two(??) computers.

Specs: Nvidia Geforce 260, Intel i7 860, 8GB Ram and Samsung 2233rz screen.

VERY thankful if you can help me.
Best regards.

As I said in the second post, ive tried several mice and mousepads, so thats not the problem. I actually bought a new mouse to this new computer, and the exact same problem still excists. I am using a optical ikari mouse. Have tried the SS Kinzu, Logitech MX518 and the SS Xai.

do a clean boot and see if it still does the same.

go to start -> run -> type in msconfig -> under the startup tab -> uncheck all -> reboot

Do you have ANY other mouse software installed? This includes game pads, other mouse programs, etc.

Test this by uninstalling ALL of your mouse software and rebooting. When your computer reboots, it should only be running the default mouse software that comes with Windows. It should work fine with your mouse (except that only the standard buttons will work).

Test it with your game. If it now works, it means that the problem is your mouse drivers (conflict, out-of_date?).

I dont use any drivers for my mouse, and I have tried installing them, but it unfortunately makes no difference. I think it might have something to do with me installing a .sys file to change the hertz on my mouse. I have uninstalled it but it might be something that is still lying around in system32, regedit or something of that kind. Is there a way to reset regedit to a default? ive searched online but I havn't found any way for me to do it.
