WoW
Hi all,

I got a manufacturer refurbished Studio 1747 a couple months ago, which worked fantastic out of the box. My fps were always high even in 25 mans on the most graphic intensive fights. I ended up doing a faction transfer and joining a top end guild to do some fun stuff (I had been away from the game for a year).

Shortly after my transfer, my computer started sucking. My fps dropped, I couldn't stay alive (especially on heroic sindy), and my dps was not where it should be. I ended up having to leave guild last night after causing another wipe and being generally unable to stay alive.

My system runs on Window 7, has 4 g of ram, Intel core i7, 1.6 ghz, with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650.

I've run antivirus software, antispyware, adaware, and Advanced System Care. I simply cannot find the problem.

Any ideas?

Defrag the hard drive?

Check to see what other processes are running at the same time as WoW (use Task Manager).

Other than that i can think of nothing other than doing a roll back.

Did you check to see if your graphics settings might of went to ultra? if it helps try and close other processes in the background. it might also be the fact that your connection to your new server might be low check your latency

Settings were set to low, which is annoying because the first month I could raid on Ultra. My latency is fine, though Cox is jamming too many users onto my bandwidth.

Is my processor fast enough?

Should I reformat? System restore doesn't go back far enough and I've already used the earliest date.

if it was working perfectly fine b4 then it's not ur cpu.

i believe fps is related to the video card.

reformate will help if it's a software issue.

have u tried disabling all the addons?

It could be your graphics. a review of that GPU here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI...0.13883.0.html
Scroll down to WoW ,shows 2005 BC version if thats what they tested, has it at mid detail. As most long term wow players know, Lich King changed the performance. what was once High detail machines have dropped to Med or Low.

Now that in mind, combined with poor bandwidth?
Also, brand new your system was in its cleanest and top form, I'm sure you have installed or removed a few things since?
Anything update between the time of the change? Newest version doesn't mean best. Seen it a few times with video drivers, update and things get worse.

I find with all the stuff that you can run in the back ground after using your computer for a year or so they do get slower and sometimes even out date so quickly that a good computer is not very awsome but i would so try a new video card as that is why most games start to mess around onboard video is only so good
