Just Cause 2 error
Hi ppl... see im trying to run
Just Cause 2 on my rig... now the installation went fine and everything.. but when i try to launch the game, it gives me the following error :

Not Enough Storage is available to complete this operation

the catch is i dont understand what its asking for .. more Ram or more hard disk..

straightforwardly .. i will tell u .. i hav 16.7 gigs free and i have only one partition in my HD .. drive c:\
and i hav 512 ddr 2 ram... dont question processor specs or GPU... they will run it for sure..
but then again.. after a thorough research.. i found out on the net that even the finest computers gave this error.. like a rig with 8gb ram and win 7

so.. please tell me what is a remedy..

You system specs are always important to know, each component in its own right might appear to be sufficient but the combination of them all might cause a problem.

What is the make and model of your machine (assuming its a big brand name like HP or Dell)?
If it's a custom / self build then what is the make, model etc. for Motherboard, RAM, CPU, Graphics, Soundcard, Harddrives, Power Supply, anything else you have attached like USB devices.

This error seems very common, have you checked for any updates / patches from the games website?

fine, just dont say my computer is a low-life...
im pretty confident and proud of it... plz i just need to get over the error

dell optiplex GX280
specs..(no laughing please) :
p4 3.0 ghz (2 cpus)
Radeon Hd 4650 512mb ddr2
512mb ram ddr 2
intel d915
directx 10 Nct 2 release
Win xp sp 2
Sata Hd 40gb
keyboard and mouse attached through usb as there's no ports for their orig adapters

No patches or anything so far... Eidos has dissapointed too many customers now.. as far as i can get.
any ways.. i also found out that this happens to others apps too... i m thinking u can help me.. please...
its a common error.. i vehemently believe u can help me

just the idea of a 8gb ram + win 7 rig having the same error stops me from ram upgrades..

First thing I would do is update your Windows installation to SP3 and all the associated hot fixes. Also ensure all your hardware drivers are all up to date.

Other things to look at:

- Windows XP is not supported by Just Cause 2, so may be a problem there.
- You are 1.5Gb short of the minimum RAM requirement. 512 is the minimum really to run just Windows XP.
- A Pentium 4 CPU is below the minimum system requirements. Just Cause 2 is threaded for multiple cores so probably wont run that well on an older, single core CPU.
- What other processes do you have running in the background?

I genuinely think, in your case, your lack of RAM is a significant factor in the problem. A lot of the 512mb will be in use just to run Windows, this doesn't leave much for other applications. I would imagine you are looking at about 300-350mb of RAM actually available, with the other 150-200mb being in constant use by essential system processes.

I have done a bit of googling on it and it seems a common fault with no definitive resolution.

Sorry if thats not what you wanted to hear, however in my opinion that is certainly part of the reason.

In response to your PM, Ive taken a look at your thread.

You need a new computer to play this game properly; you need a lot more RAM, a dual core CPU, a bigger hard drive, a more powerful video card, and a newer operating system such as Windows Vista or Windows 7.

But the game seems to be glitchy at this point and thats a common error with no good solution, but be sure to have the latest patch installed for it.

if i didnt have finance limits.. i wud hav got at least a core duo and a 4670 ...
i can still get the ram upto 1.5 gb... but please... tell me.. do i STILL hav a slim chance with it..

(BTW my Radeon 4650 has shader moder 4.1 and direct x 10.1 capability! )

I have Mr. Tanis to thank to.. but i did like to know how to run it, sire,
regardless of its true performance... , i hav two anti virus programs and download manager, ATI catalyst , and motorola connection manager running in my back ground.. i can post screenshot of my whole task manager process bar if u want

and Triple6... i dont hav quid to get all that .. maybe in college ( 2 years later) i will get the latest tech of the time.. but right now... i dont have much finance on me.. sorry if my OLD pc annoys u... but thats all i got and i like it

No sir, you can't. Just Cause 2 is not supported on Windows XP, does not support your processor, and you don't have enough RAM. Just Cause 2 is also DirectX 10. You have XP. The highest it can go is DirectX 9. Hate to tell you: your computer doesn't even come close.

It dont really matter too much in win 7 if he has 64 or 32. I must of missed the name of the game at some point :/ Im not a mod here. All right not makeing fun of your system build just that I only seen single socket pent 4. Course yours probably isnt a 478. Haveing too Anti-viruses isnt a good thing, slows the machine down an cause's other issues.

Basically, you need a faster cpu an probably a newer video card. You dont need too replace the OS. However, you could probably get win 7 cheaper.

i fully understand that you all are my well wishers here... and thank u for that
but i cant bug a new video card now... in other words.. im a casual gamer who prefers low end gaming..

thats why.. i say that my pc meets minimum specs for the game... (assuming i get 1.5 gb ram ) except the processor, which wont matter much anyway...
a/c to the video in youtube ( my last reply has a link for that)

so... even if i get somewhat a bit higher level specs... what are assurances that the game will NOT display this error and execute to perfection..?

reply requested

(no problem squall if ur not a mod, u still offer good advice!)

Cause I know what too do half the time Kidding, for the most part I do a good bit of the time. The thing is that your probably just going too notice it lag probably cause the cpu wont handle the details an everything. Alot of that can be turned off an you could probably run it with out much issue.

Exactly! ur finally on the same wavelength as me , thank goodness!
(of course i had thought everything through, by making up my mind of turning the extra graphics and all for stable FPS)

Now that we are in sync.. u must have realized that my basic and raw aim is to get past this error which disallows the execution of the game...

i know its a uncommon and rare error... but it happens with other applications too.. some say there's the registry size problem or something like that..

i did humbly request if some one.. could find a solution for me.. to bypass OR solve this error

and ofcourse! im getting atleast 1 gb more ram, very soon !
(it would be really bad if the game still cited the same error After the upgrade)

cheers!
