Will GTA IV work on this laptop?
Hello all!

I've bought this laptop a few days ago http://www.geekwithlaptop.com/lenovo-g550-notebook and when I installed GTA IV on it it had really slow frame rate while playing, in fact I wasn't able to change anything under graphics, since I got a message that my memory is already exceeding, so I decided to return this laptop and replace it and I was looking at this two,

http://translate.google.com/translat...hop%2Ffalse%2F

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...oduct=4115674#

so can you tell me if GTA IV would work smoothly on both of these?
cause I don't wanna buy it again and end up with poor frame rate as I don't wanna play like that.

Those still may not play GTA IV smoothly....laptops are not the best for gaming unless you pay a lot of money.

You are asking how long is a piece of string.......I personally wouldn't like to say......if I had to guess I would say those laptops may have problems running games like GV4

thanks. You know the problem on those laptops isn't any other specs as the graphic card and the one I bought already had an intel graphic card built in ad these two have ATI's so I guess I should be able to play with lowest settings...hopefully someone can confirm this..

I do play GTAIV (and Modern Warfare 2) on my laptop. Asus G73jh (http://www.anandtech.com/show/3662/a...xlsized-gaming). It has played everything I have thrown at it so far.

checked the graphics in the HP.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 Doesn't look like it will play GTA 4

Long list of graphic cards and a few games: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Compute...s.13849.0.html
Searched for the card listed on the HP site and showed all red (not playable) for GTA 4. Maybe they didnt test it don't know.

The HD 4250 from the first computer scored even lower.

So, from that, I say no it wont. Unless someone has those cards and specs and can say otherwise.

thanks a lot for looking it up, really appreciate it. I went on and purchased this one then http://translate.google.com/translat...f_ar%3DWH594EA it has a geforce g103m card in it and on this site you gave me mostly shows all red, but I don't know if it has been tested or not?
however I found a guy here on youtube playing GTA IV with this same graphic card only with 1GB ram more since I guess he has a different version of CQ61 since they made many of these, so I guess I should be able to play it on my new purchased comp now, if he can, no?

here's a video:

Maybe, but it looks like no to me.
here's how I see it.
you have 3 gigs of ram right. He has 4. the video card you both have uses system memory for up to around 1 gig total.
so, he is running the game on low settings. Say the graphics card uses all 1 gig to render that game. leaves him with 3 gigs for other game rendering. For you, would leave 2 gigs. . Yes Extra Ram may be that important.
27fps is low for a game. He shows he disabled and closed nearly every background program to use the most RAM he could.

However there is a chance you can play as he did. Since you ordered one already, you can give it a try and let us know.
If you end up not liking how it looks or works, you can most likely return it or exchange right?
