1st I'd get a free anti-virus if you can't afford a full one, there are a few free ones out there AVG or Microsoft security essentials are probably your best bet, choose one of them.

So exactly what chain of event/s makes you think your being watched?
If you need to analyse your traffic and have no experience doing this you will struggle. You can try using Wireshark or Snort, which are both free but with no knowledge in this area its really pointless unless you have time to swat up for a long while.
