| Solved: Please help with my virus troubles Hello, I have Windows XP, IBM T42. I do not know what else you need to know about my computer. I have been having some trouble with my computer as of late. I know I have a trojan.vundo problem. My Symantec antivirus pops up with an autoprotect several times a day when it finds them. I have the latest version of the VundoFix program but it will not get rid of all of them no matter how many times I run it. I also have many pop-ups when navigating the internet. I also suspect I have other viruses or spyware on my computer because whenever SuperntiSpyware (free edtion) or spybot I come up with several different things (personally I do not know what any of them are). I also have two error messages that pop up every now and again, I cannot remember what they say nor do I know if they are related, but I will post them the next time they pop up. Here is a list of what my symantec antivirus autoprotect has found in the last month (I am not sure if this is relevant): Downloader: A0107428.EXE A0107429.DLL A0107431.DLL A0107432.EXE A0107433.EXE A0107434.EXE A0107435.EXE A0107436.DLL A0107437.EXE A0107438.DLL A0107439.EXE A0107440.DLL A0107441.DLL A0107442.EXE A0107443.EXE A0107444.DLL A0107445.EXE A0107447.EXE A0107448.EXE MASIYXANIDI[1] aqibpjkm.exe bpdfgtxp.dll ewgjgtkc.dll gnteswsv.exe goautxkh.exe gsfjdgys.exe iofqoukx.exe knlsxohu.dll mpteunwc.exe nndmiryf.dll oesylloh.exe olrphssx.dll omxliefe.dll qhdcjfmr.exe scidqpfs.exe tqjyqybl.dll tutjptnv.exe ugqitrhm.exe usrlwvdk.exe yujukxut.exe Hacktool.Spammer: aol.exe three[1].exe Infostealer.Lineage: A0105262.DLL A0105263.DLL Trojan.Awax: A0113901.DLL Trojan.Metajuan: A0107557.DLL A0107562.DLL BIUCYBOR.DLL.BAD QEYMIKMS.DLL.BAD Trojan.Vundo: A0099782.DLL A0099785.dll A0099786.DLL A0100809.DLL A0102140.DLL A0102142.DLL A0104176.DLL A0105176.DLL A0105339.DLL A0105340.DLL A0105367.DLL A0107367.DLL A0107368.DLL A0107369.DLL A0107388.DLL A0107430.DLL A0107446.DLL A0107450.DLL A0107451.DLL A0107452.DLL A0107452.DLL A0107558.DLL A0107559.DLL A0107560.DLL A0107561.DLL BJVHDYMH.DLL.BAD BOOT[1].LSP BYTE[1].ES CSS4[1] EFCYA.DLL.BAD EYTTVOHX.DLL.BAD HUNFBFXS.DLL.BAD HVJJUQPG.DLL.BAD IDSYHCOY.DLL.BAD IKBOVSUD.DLL.BAD MPI[1].MS NHJUVQMS.DLL.BAD NNNNNKH.DLL.BAD PTYBEDTJ.DLL.BAD RSS010[1].XMA SMCUMMCL.DLL.BAD URSTQ.DLL.BAD WTXGJFPU.DLL.BAD adfcook[1] adfcookmazafuka[1] ddcccdd.dll idien[1] kcehc_eicooc20070702[1] kcehc_eicooc[1] lkjh[1] mtngsong.dll.bad rqoml.dll urqpmlj.dll Trojan Horse: A0105179.DLL jaun_20070726[1] Thank you to anyone who can offer any suggestions, Christopher |

| You may want to print this or save it to notepad as we will go to safe mode. Fix these with HiJackThis – mark them, close IE, click fix checked O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UC_Start] C:\Program Files\IBM\Updater\\ucstartup.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SystemOptimizer] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\fnkbovqv.dll",forkonce DownLoad http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip or http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/killbox.exe Restart your computer into safe mode now. (Tapping F8 at the first black screen) Perform the following steps in safe mode: Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Standard File Kill. In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following line(s) one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confimation to delete the file. Click Yes. Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box. C:\WINDOWS\system32\fnkbovqv.dll Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not exist. If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any. START – RUN – type in %temp% - OK - Edit – Select all – File – Delete Delete everything in the C:\Windows\Temp folder or C:\WINNT\temp Not all temp files will delete and that is normal Empty the recycle bin Boot and post a new hijack log from normal NOT safe mode How are things on the PC??????????? |

| Update... I completed everything as directed. I no longer get the ucgather.exe error message (i still get the RUNDLL one, however that i assume is minor compared to everything else). there is no longer a constant barrage of popups, but I have not navigated the internet much. I think the pop ups are gone though. My new HijackThis log is posted below. Is there another step? Thanks for all your help with purging my computer. | I think you have some corruption in the Thinkpad files as the first error was a Thinkpad file Do this - One by one disable the following entries in msconfig and then boot to see if the rundll error goes away - if not re-enable the one you disabled and then go to the next one [BluetoothAuthenticationAgent] rundll32.exe bthprops.cpl,,BluetoothAuthenticationAgent [BMMMONWND] rundll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ThinkPad\UTILIT~1\BatInfEx.dll,BMMAutonomicMonitor [BMMGAG] RunDll32 C:\PROGRA~1\ThinkPad\UTILIT~1\pwrmonit.dll,StartPwrMonitor |

| Still a problem... I have not done what you just said as of yet I don't know what msconfig is. Do you know where I can find it. Also it seems that I spoke to soon about the popups. I woke up this morning and signed on my computer and I am getting a popup every two minutes again. I also just had Symantec AntiVirus auto protect find Trojan.Vundo in the file: C:\Documents and Settings\Skillet\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\KU7U1FE9\lkjh[1] So that problem is not gone. |

| Update... I found msconfig. The following one made the rundll error go away. It was the first one I tried so I did not do the other ones. [BluetoothAuthenticationAgent] rundll32.exe bthprops.cpl,,BluetoothAuthenticationAgent Any ideas about the trojan.vundo or the pop ups? |

| DownLoad EasyCleaner http://www.majorgeeks.com/download414.html Use the clear files and Unnecessary files buttons – I do not recommend using the Duplicates files button as many dupes are there on purpose. Not all files will delete – that is normal. In the unnecessary button I check the top 4 entries |

| Update... Hello, I did everything and I did not have a pop up since I signed onto this site (which I usually do). So things might be going better. I have no more error messages so that is better. So things seem better to me. We'll see. Here's my HijackThis log, let me know what to do next.
