Opening Ports
Hello all,
I have a Linksys WRTG54 router which doubles as my firewall. Up to this point in my life I've been to afraid to dabble in opening ports and haven't really had any reason to do so, but I may be getting into bittorent soon.

As it relates to this or other possible reasons one might want to open one or more ports, am I correct in assuming that if you open ports to things you want that they are wide open for anyone else to use as they see fit? How is it that all you computer geeks out there (a term which I use endearingly) are opening your ports all the time and not getting hijacked?

Thank you
