McAfee, SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster & RougeRemoverPRO
Hi, I currently have McAfee, SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster & RougeRemoverPRO running on my PC at all times to keep my PC more safe from attacks.

I was wondering whether it is dangerous to have all 4 installed and running on th PC, and whether I could only have 2 or 3 running instead and still be safe.

Also, would my PC run much slower with all 4 running, than it would if 2 or 3 were?

Thanks to all advice

Hi best to only run one Anti-virus [McAfee] which you do..so that is Ok.
One than one Av can cause a conflict and slow down your system.
Using more than one Spyware program is also Ok..as they do not conflict with each other.
Haven't used RogueRemover Pro so cannot comment on that program.
McAfee can be a resourse hog but running four programs together shouldn't slow down your system.

You may even want to add to your protection by running extra weekly scans using.

Thanks for the reply, Blues. I have Spybot atm, and I used to have AdAware SE Personal. The link for AdAware 2007 and MS Windows Defender does not work for me. I searched for a free download on google, but after installing AdAware 2007, I was asked for the serial number.

I don't think it is a good idea to install too many same security software on one computer because they will consume lots of your system resources, may conflict and freeze your system and don't make your computer safer.

One antivirus, one firewall and one anti spyware should be enough. And some antivirus or security software suite embed multiple-functions.

I would suggest 2 anti spyware programs and 1 anti virus program. It will do the job for you.

Hi GodDoTheRest.
Just to clarify what I meant..one Anti-virus..one Firewall..one Spyware program running in the background.
No harm will be done having other Spyware programs installed [but not running] and scanning once a week.
