Unhappy Conflicting anti virus programs please HELP !!
I have been having problems whereas my computer keeps telling me that I may have TWO anti virus programs running at the same time. I have gone into control panel/programs and all I can find is my norton anti-virus listed. I have heard that some programs carry their own anti-virus programs attached, but I haven't the foggyist how to identify them. This is my first POST on the site, so please bare with me. Iff there is anyone out there who is prepared to help, I would be very grateful. In closing I do tend to think that the problem may have started after I installed a Logitec web cam and joined up to Skype, and also occasionally I get a report saying that another application is trying to use the camera, even though I am unaware of anything else that can be trying to.

Get rid of Norton is my suggestion, Norton is the cause of many PC problems. Get something free like avast or AVG or if you want to spend some money get Nod32 which is excellent those will work 100 times better than Norton and probably fix your problem too.

Howdy MOONVIEW,
I agree with Own4g3, Nortons is the seat of all problems! It is resource hungry and slows your computer down and seems to regularly get glitches. I have used NOD32 and found it very easy to configure and very effective and for a free antivirus, AVG is very good. I now use ZoneAlarmSecurity Suite and haven't had any problems with it but ZA takes a little getting used to as it takes time to get to know how you have your computer set up and which programmes have permissions etc. You get a lot of alerts to start with.I would suggest removing Nortons and installing a free av, I think kapersky is another free one and see if you get the same conflict messages. If you don't, Nortons was the culprit!! You might need the Nortons uninstaller tool to get rid of Nortons though. You can probabley get it at www.majorgeeks.com .You type in Norton removal tool in the search box and get taken right to the removal tool.
Regards Paula
