Windows Explorer restart loop in Vista (informative post)
Here's a "heads up" post for all of you who work on virus cleanings. I found nothing on Google concerning this item, so I figured I'd post it here.

I ran into a problem with a Vista computer today that had Windows Explorer restarting in an infinite loop, both in standard mode and Safe Mode. The cause was a file called osdjhjc.dll_unloaded (as per the system logs). In HiJackThis, it shows up in the O22 area. It resides in the registry under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\SharedTaskScheduler with the value of "disenfranchising".

The only way I was able to stop the loop was to delete that "disenfranchising" value. After which, explorer stopped its "restarting loop" and I was able to clean the system with SUPERAntiSpyware and XoftSpySE.

I hope this information helps.
