Norton is offering an anti-bot program. Just how serious a problem is this new threat ?

I couldn't agree more - but it doesn't answer the question --I personally use AVG. I copied and pasted that question which was from a friend up in Michigan. I'm not even sure which "bot" he was referring to.

I hear that root kits are our next big problem.
My big problem now is that Windows gets confused for now good reason...
and I can't find any protection from this Bill Gates Alzheimer's Virus.
I used to worry about all this protection until I adopted my recovery plan.

I use Acronis True Image and an external HD.
Now, If I even have a hunch that something is wrong ...
I'll just rewrite my HD with a fresh install of Windows, fully loaded and updated in a matter of minutes.

Nothing tunes up, or fixes, a computer like a fresh install of Windows and I can do this in less time than one can read their first Windows recovery DVD.

I use AVG, Zone Alarm, Winpatrol, CCleaner and Acronis True Image for total recovery.
Symantec will just have to make their money from someone else.
