What should be done to hard drive, and or other stuff, to remove info, data, etc., before it goes to the recycler.

I saw on a news program that you can take the hard drive out and pound it with a hammer. Should get a lot of frustration out anyway.

I would think submerging it in water would work. Anyone know if water would work?

Water probably wouldn't work but hammering it really hard or using a sledge hammer would work.. I would use DBAN to erase all the data and write over it many times, first.

.You need to destroy the platters inside. Try smashing them with a hammer. Destroying them with a torch should work.
