Trend Micro PC-cillin Intern...
I purchased a Gateway, 2007 computer desktop and was recommended Trend by the salesman. I have repeatedly had trouble accessing the internet. I have had my cable modem replaced and my pc was had all diagnostic tests done by Gateway and my cable, internet company yesterday and today. I have case numbers to confirm all of this . What it boils down to is I am told that my security settings on my firewall is to high and is not allowing me to access the internet. I was told to turn my firewall off and that is the only way I am able to contact you now. Could someone help me in this matter or give me a number to Trend. Waiting to hear your reply. I was told not to access banking or pay other bills until this is straightened out. Thank You. Kat-Dogg

If you can access the internet by just turning off your firewall then I guess it must be the firewall thats stopping you. Basically, firewalls can block incomming and outgoing traffic. You must then tell the firewall to allow outgoing traffic if its comming from your browser ( Internet Explorer, Firefox or Opera ) The firewall will then allow your browser to connect to the internet and allow matching returning traffic back in. I am not familiar with Trend but the that is the basic principle of how firewalls work.
