| So my computer has been running pretty slow lately. A week ago I had to do a system restore due to some malware and a trojan. I think I got it but I'm not sure how to tell. I can put up the hijack this log afterwards if you'd like I just don't know how to read it. The system restore was from a lot longer ago than I had realized and it basically made my computer go back to the beginning. Anyways the main problem that I'm having is that ccapp.exe seems to be hogging up my mem usage making anything else really slow. It's using 425,000 K or more at times including when I'm idle. When I try to end the process it tells me "operation could not be completed access denied" I'm the only one on my computer and therefore the administrator, so why am I being denied access to a process on my own computer? Maybe I didn't really kill the malware, but at this point I'm really just frustrated. I did what turned out to be almost a full system restore and it's still there? I hope not. Also, I think there might be a problem with what my hard drive is reading for the disk space because after system restore it seems to be reading even higher disk usage than what i can remember from before the big restore. I did lose a lot of non-backed up music, movies and other media that i had stored on my computer that I cant seem to find now. I'm pretty positive this means their totally gone but I guess I still hold a glimmer of hope that maybe their hiding somewhere. If not can somebody make some suggestions as to how to get my disk usage back down again? I had it pretty low before even with music and other misc junk but i just don't remember everything i did for that. I'm really trying to cut down on the number of programs I have but I'm a terrible at it. I know that windows xp, especially the media center edition, can come with a lot of extra junkie processes but even still it seems weird to me to have it use so much extra disk space. Hehe sorry this is probably a lot and maybe somebody has had these problems before and solved them. if so you may direct me to the right forum.Thanx ahead for everything and anything! |
