Solved: AVG Detected Trojan Horse
Hi,
AVG Pro just detected TrojanHorse BHO.BPY.
When I was surfing, AVG popped up and asked what to do. I selected Heal, which it stated it had done so successfully.
Then I just ran a scan in AVG on my non-Admin account(the account I was on when this happened) and it found it again and says it deleted it.
How should I proceed? Should I stay on the non-Admin account? Run Hijackthis? Only it's on the Admin account. Can I log out of the non-Admin account and go into the Admin account to run Hijackthis?
Also, is the trojan really deleted as AVG states it is?
How to proceed...Thanks for your time

Any help with this please? Thanks.
Just scanned with AVG(on the non-Admin account) again and the trojan did not show up, is it really gone? I haven't rebooted or changed to the Admin account yet. Waiting on some directions. Is it safe to surf? Thanks in advance.

Is the Trojan something that you downloaded and have not run? If so, then, then its safe. But if you have ran the trojan, then it might have brought down some other stuff.

As far as I know it didn't run. When AVG popped up, there was other stuff popping up too, like files being scanned etc...I closed everything and ran the AVG scan. AVG's virus vault has the following info on it:
object name: cnte-oiduuyes[1].gif
object path: C:\docs and settings\Guest\local settings\tempinternetfiles\content.IE5\LPEJ2JM6\
Healable: No
Source: Backup copy
Status: Infected
How do I know if it's really gone? I havne booted yet or switched to the Admin account.

Logged into the Admin account and ran AVG, Spy-Bot Search and Destroy, all came up clean. Rebooted and ran AVG, clean again. So, AVG detected this when it landed in my Temp Internet Files folder, and since I never clicked on it, it never activated? It's presently in the Virus Vault in AVG, is deleting it from there the next move? How do I know if I ran this thing or not, other than knowing I clicked on it> I never downloaded anything in the first place, this all happened when I went to some article on some sheriff out in Arizona. Thanks for your time.

Just clear the AVG Vault and you should be ok.

Thanks. Just for kicks I down loaded SuperAntiSpyware and ran that. All was clean so I think everything is fine. Thanks again.
