Question Puzzled by lpext_dok_listener
Recently during system shutdown I've received an error message that the program "lpext_dok_listener" has frozen and it gives the usual two options, end now and cancel. I've never seen this so-called program before, and I don't see it in my running processes. I've tried doing a search, but the only results were inconclusive. The result on TSG was in the HJT logs forum and they don't let me post there, apparently. I think the "LP" may refer to the U3 "Launchpad" employed by USB-2 flash drives, and a post in one of the sites I searched suggests I may be correct, but that's as informative as I've been able to find. The only other thing that has taken place recently that I can think of exposing my computer to unknown programs is that almost all of my most frequently used software was updated this week.

If it is of any use, the recently updated/upgraded software is as follows (you may want to skip this, it runs longish):
Firefox updated to 2.0.0.8
IE6 received MS security patches
Added New York Yankees toolbar and StumbleUpon toolbar to IE6 after using them in Firefox trouble-free
Updated AIM to version 6.5
Updated both definitions and scanning engine in Norton Security Scan (as provided by Google through the Google Updater app)
Updated Windows Live Messenger to current version
Updated Yahoo Messenger to current version
Winamp released version 5.5 "10th anniversary edition" with included IE toolbar. These updates were applied.
Adobe Reader 8 was updated.
AVG AV receives updates daily.
Spybot is updated regularly.
SpywareBlaster is updated regularly.
Yahoo Anti-Spy Scanner is updated regularly.
Almost all Web browsing takes place in Firefox with the AdBlock and NoScript plugins implemented, as well as SiteAdvisor on both browsers.
I have recently visited new websites, but they are almost all TV sites from nature shows.
All software updates are performed using "custom" install option where available.

If anybody reading this has any input concerning the origins and possible implications of this unknown application "lpext_dok_listener" please come forward because I can't find anything in Google or by searching security websites except for users like myself with this same question. This might wind up being the first result in Google if the replies are good but right now I'm more concerned with my system.

Program LPEXT_DOK_LISTENER - Should I worry?

I noticed this program as well and suspect that it has something to do with the sandisk usb drives that use a U3 Launchpad program.

I just found the above on a google search.
Not sure if it is of much help though. There were a few other things about keylogging etc but no clear answers.
Regards Paula

That's exactly what I'm saying. That is the entry comes up on the Google search, but it was in the HJT section and I was unable to post to it.

I ran a full AVG scan and a full Spybot scan in the time since my previous post and each scan found nothing (well, a Statcounter cookie, but that was all).
