Someone asked me to take a look at their laptop, because recently they've stopped getting Internet on their IE and their Firefox. At all. All of the sites come up as "The page cannot be displayed" (IE) or "Unable to Connect" (Firefox).
However, when using MSN's version of IE and logging in, he can connect to the web with no problem. In addition to that, web-programs such as MSN Messenger and Google Earth work with no problems.
He brought the computer in (it's a laptop) and it has the same issues here than it does at his home.
I ran Hijackthis and this is what I came up with:

Afterwards, I tried a number of things:
1. System Restore (to a point before the problem)
2. Switched that iol.pt start page
3. did a netsh command to reset his TCP/IP stack, etc.
I do not understand what would be the problem in this case. When you run the IE Internet Connection Diagnostic tool, it has no problems connecting (It gives me three Success lines, one with HTTPS, one with HTTP, and another one with something else which escapes me).
Please help me out on this one, if possible.
