Disk needs to be checked ?
Hi all.
When I boot my laptop, recently it has been checking my computer for consistency, and it has been doing this every time I boot it in the last couple of days. I use AVG Free Edition and Ad-Aware SE, and have run these multiple times, but it only found a change in the file kernel.dll (could that be it, or what is it?)

Can someone help me?
Best regards,
Andreas

Go to Start > Run, and type:

chkdsk /r

Answer "Y" to the questions. Reboot, let chkdsk finish, make a note of the report (if possible. It disappears pretty fast but pressing "Pause" may freeze it.). See if the problem goes away.

Is the "consistency" check that is running, CHKDSK (check disk)

And, do you have the spelling correct? Is it really KERNEL.dll as opposed to KERNEL32.dll?
