Solved: AVG Anti-Spyware vs. CA Security?
1. Would you suggest AVG Anti-Spyware over CA Security?

2. Do they do the same thing for me?

3. My hubby has installed CA Security and now when I type in a web address, nothing happens, but I can go to google and type in info and then click on the web address that I want and it will take me there (example...I can't type in www.hotmail.com, but I can do a google search for "msn" and then I can click on the link from google and it will allow me to get to the MSN page and then access the hotmail login page.

I've tried to download a trial version of Microsoft Publsher 2007 and my computer won't allow it....I've tried to access my www.dropshots.com account and when I log in all I see is "loading" and my pictures never come up........

I'm so sick of trying to figure out CA Security and all of the different security zones and do I want to allow this or that and block this or that. I don't have a clue what most of the things are and it would take me forever to do a search on each item that I don't know what it does.

Would appreciate feedback....before I hurt my hubby!

Thanks!

When you say AVG anti-spyware vs Ca secure,
Do you mean you want a good Anti-Spyware?

If so i would recommend AVG anti-spyware yes, or SUPERantispyware

The CA secure page on the internet looks weird...

The CA Security Package (which was a free download) has several different things included:
CA Anti-Virus
CA Anti-Spyware
CA Personal Firewall
CA Anit-Spam
CA Parental Controls

So I guess I'm needing to know if the AVG program would do the same things. We run Spybot and Ad-Aware as well.

I had CA Security as a free download from Time Warner Cable but did not like it. It insisted on deleting my cookies every few minutes, so I had to keep re-logging on to every website I visit that uses cookies to store my logons. With no apparent method to disable that "feature", I ditched CA Security. I now use both AVG Anti-virus and AVG Anti-spyware. You need both as AVG Anti-spyware does not protect against viruses.
